WildeWood
WildeWood property owner government is made up of associational sections. The largest section that is the sponsor of this website is WildeWood I-IV with approximately 620 residential units.V, VI, Section VII has approximately 248 units; Section V -187 units; Section VI - 69; Mallet Hill Village - 35; Turkey Pointe - 61; White Birch Circle - 59; Village Farm - 28; Smallwood Townhomes - 16 for a total of 1,323 residential units. Other surrounding developments contiguous to the original WildeWood land includes The Enclave, Belleclave. WildeWood Green, WildeWood Downs and Chellwood.
The original project was conceived by Heath Manning and Donnie Boyd who developed each section at a time. The total WildeWood community now covers about 1600 acres with a golf course and a country club. As lots were sold in each succeeding section, the developers 'turned over' control of each neighborhood to its own Home Owners' Association.
Until 1972, Highway 1 (Two Notch Road) was just two lanes from Decker Boulevard all the way to Camden. With the widening of Two Notch, the opening of I-20 and I-77, and the opening of Spring Valley High School in 1970, WildeWood found itself more in the middle of a booming northeast residential and commercial community, rather than a distant residential neighborhood on the outskirts of Columbia.
